Girl From Ipanema-Lara
66
They say in the song she is
Young and lovely tall and tan
Goes walking as like a samba
Knowing she pleases every man
In magic ways sways her hips
surely she knows all men
She's sure to come back each
and every day to do it again
She will not look at these idiots
with only one thing in mind
As she wiggles how they stare
Just might make them go blind
This girl walks swaying to the sea
Ignoring all these depraved
Pretending they are not there;
knowing here she is the raved
Little does she know that she
will one day profit from them
With just this little shake and
from a song that comes to them
The song made beaches very popular there
Probably she deserved part of that money too
Certainly she has brought them many millions
Just as the song about her was certain to do
But that has been so many years ago the girl
although much younger than the beaches there
Has by now become quite old I would really think
While waters come in fresh none the worse for wear
I am sure most of us would be honored though to be
A beauty such as this girl from Ipanema was known
And for years a mystery until heirs tried to make claim
She shouldn't have the name; have her business gone
Ah well that is life the way it is crazy as can be you know
Like someone breaking in your house; fall and get hurt
Sue you in a court of law and knowing as has been done
Steal all any value and then courts give them your shirt

We don't know who on the team analyzed your hub, and why, but they did let you post it again. Maybe it's the sexy lady's picture.
I think it is well written, a great poem.
Great pic, poem, and song. Ahhhhh
It is nice to read poetry with some meaning and thought behind it, rather than mere feeling. While feeling and emotions intensify poetic tone, it is understandable meaning that gives it real value (just my opinion).
I love it !
i juss wanna thank u so much you have really help me make up my mind towards my ex.
awesome poem.... i loved it!!
When I was there I was told that most Rio girls spend, on average 33% of their income to look good on the beech on a Sunday. To me, I could believe it, that and Copa Cabana are sights that every man should see. Christ the Redeemer could not have himself, picked a better place to watch over.
Great poem. I saw such sadness in beauty, but then again we all take something different from what we read. ^_^ keep up the good work.
I really enjoyed your poem and great thoughts in this HUB. The music took me back to earlier good times of my life.

Just read your poem and am listening to the song. Cool! Enjoyable and in perfect taste!
One of my very favorite songs, and your riff on it is excellent. I am glad you reposted it if that is what happened. Being kinda new here, I'm not sure.
Pollyannalana,
Astrud Gilberto did such a nice cover of her own hit on this upbeat version of Girl From Ibanema. I love this rendition of the song and your hub— voted up.

Hi Polly, I sure don't see anything wrong with this. I would like to see something from hubs explaining the problem. Love your hubs. Greg
