We Will Always Love You

The beauty you gave to this world we adored like a heavenly bird
Just to open your mouth to sing gave sweetness to every word
You made fans of the young and the old and everyone in between
Now you are gone from us from this life never more to be seen
It seems we have had you for your youth for so many magical years
Now before you have finished your story you have brought us to tears
Why, so many of us wonder do ones with so much need dependencies?
Like you; dear Whitney and are so far gone before anyone really sees
Here you have joined Michael when one would think he would be a lesson
Did his death not get you to thinking about this vice you were messing
Yet it looks much clearer to many of us on the outside looking in to advise
On what you should or could have done; that would have been so very wise
If all you were, was not an inspiration to many who followed your life along
May your parting be a wake-up call to those who want another lovely song
It is no good now for us to judge and point fingers to tell anyone what to do
Just know Whitney dearest, that wherever you are; we will always love you

What a beautiful and poignant poem. You would think with the loss of Jackson and Weinhouse. We would wake up and realise that drugs kill! :( Thank you for writing this..I voted up and shared.
Awesome tribute (and voted that way) If we indeed do find that drug abuse was the cause of her death (or even one of the causes) I hope this is a lesson to all those who think that drugs are the answer to their problems...I, too, was inspired to write about her last night when I heard the news...
You really touched me with this one. Like you said, pointing fingers is..or desn't make sense after all is done. Things are coming up about her partying and Booze, but did they ever wonder why? We cannot judge Whitney without seeing the sin in us. Thanks my friend!
LORD
Pollyannalana,
I voted up, awesome and beautiful, because of your hub and the subject of which you wrote. She has always been one of my favorite singers, and she could act as well.
I watched "Body Guard" so much until I had to throw it away, it was on video. Her singing in that movie was the greatest.
I am so sorry that we have lost someone who gave us so much--but we failed to help her when she needed it the most.
Someone was needed by her side to watch out for her and help her in the battle of drugs. She only struck out at others because of fear. Anyway, I could go on and on, but I will stop.
I will miss her, and her beautiful voice.

Polly, I didn't realize Whitney Houston had died until just a few minutes ago when I got online. What a waste of a young life. She was so beautiful and so talented. This is a great tribute to her. I haven't read/heard any of the details. I pray that somehow along life's way she met her Savior. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful and sweet tribute poem Polly.
I got my first car when her first album came out. I have fond memories driving down the road listening to her. RIP Whitney.
Hi Polly really nice poem. I heard on the radio that Whitney died while I was driving and they played " I Will Always Love You". I love that song. It is so sad about Whitney. Very nice poem tribute.
Great hub! Well chosen title also.

This is a beautiful tribute for Whitney. She will be missed. Voted up and beautiful, Joyce.
Hi, wonderful poem polly, and so true, why do they do this? there was a photo in our newspaper of her a couple of days ago, looking the worse for wear, as they say, and I thought how sad it was that her ex had got her this way, now this horrible news, I grew up with her music, well since my mid twenties so I will miss her, rated up, nell
Beautiful tribute!
I am mourning! I feel like crying and crying. I still don't believe Polly! I can't believe!
That is just beautiful, and so true. We have to walk a mile in someone else's shoes to truly understand them, and that is not possible. Thank you or a great tribute to a great lady!
A wonderful heartwarming tribute you have put together Polly... Thank you
Blessings and Hugs

Hi Polly, a beautiful poem and tribute to Whitney, thank you and voted up
Such a tragic end - lovely tribute
WOW! What a beautiful poem for a wonderful person. Gone too soon! Voted-UP! Come visit me when you have a chance. God Bless...
I see you a poet as well, nice. I like this take on the Whitney Houston tragedy, yes she was the greatest singer I have ever heard in my short lived 37 years on this planet. I definitely liked the way you've expressed your poetic message out to others here, with unique suggestive creativity to have us ponder on a bit.
I also wish she had done the right thing for herself, and mainly for her family, her daughter she left behind, but the lord knows best I guess.
Awesome hub and thank you for representing for Whitney Houston, because people need to let go of all the negativity, and see her for what her music has represented. Messages from a vocal angelic being is what I saw her as, and I not only seen it, my spirit feels it every time I hear her sing.
We love you and Miss you Whitney 1963-2012..........RIP
This is a heart touching tribute so well written with meanining and passion. Whitney Houston's songs will forever remain in all our hearts.
What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful singer. Whitney's songs are some of my favourites. How very sad that she had to leave this world so soon.
Beautiful tribute to Whitney Houston. I just wanna say "I will always love you"....forever. Whitney, "Rest in Peace"

A truly lovely tribute poem. And I love the video of Ms. Houston singing so beautifully that song Dolly Parton wrote when she left Porter Waggoner (professionally, not romantically). Thank you! :)
A truly beautiful tribute to Whitney. She has made such a great impact in many people's life. How I wished she can continue to sing... and have led a better life.
I can never understand why someone didn't commit her for her own safety?
Even people with big money need protection from themselves sometimes.
Good hub, sad subject. Voted & Interesting.
